We could say we are a landscape architecture firm, but this cannot begin contain us. Planta Diseño Botánico is the stance we take before our wounded planet: we are a creative studio that integrates landscaping, design, art and intertwines it with political and social action. We conceive ecosystems, gardens and other green spaces in an attempt to cultivate life, preserve balance and outline just and equitable forms of coexistence with nature.
In Planta DB we imagine generous futures with the land that sustains us. We believe in care as an act of resistance in the face of a world that consumes everything in a hurry. We design to restore, to heal, to resist, because every project is an opportunity to question how we inhabit the Earth. We collaborate with the landscape, we do not dominate it.
We choose a future where equity is the norm and territories are drawn horizontally. We demand fair processes for human life—artisans, producers, gardeners—but also for non-human life: rivers, stones, volcanoes and pollinators. We constantly ask ourselves: how do we want the trees we plant to remember us once we're gone? How do we weave relationships based on ecofeminism and other ancient knowledge? What kind of world do we want to build? This is why we create landscapes that go beyond contemplation.
We believe in the garden as a utopian space capable of transforming our relationship with the world. In our landscapes, we want birds to trace invisible routes and the whispers of plants to speak to big cities. Every project we touch is a journey: it unfolds over time, with the seasons, and requires patience, like the promise of a tree that will one day grow and give us shade.
