Albor by Hilton

San Miguel de Allende
5,000 m²
2020 September

Albor is a Hilton group site in San Miguel de Allende, designed as a hotel and event venue. An extensive project that includes several areas: lobby, restaurants, shared spaces complete with a pool and terraces, children's area, a garden and a large patio for events. During the research on the biodiversity of the area, we took a tour of local nurseries in search of endemic plants suitable for the semiarid conditions of the plot. Finally, a xerophytic botanical collection was proposed with cacti, trees, succulents and shrubs, matching the diverse spatial experiences. In addition, the design proposal contemplates the low water consumption and easy up-keep of this palette. Hotels are an increasingly competitive sector in tourism and wedding circles, so we focused on conceptualizing and presenting a bold and local design that will stand out in a sea of options. Together with Productora and Esrawe, we developed a coherent and harmonious concept between architecture, interiors and landscape. The lobby highlights a collapse that turns into a stone garden, purple stone that was removed from the site and that matches the interiors and façade of the place. In the children's area, a labyrinth of diverse and wild vegetation predominates, inviting a journey full of surprises, with manifesting bodies of water and trees that create moments of shade. We participated in the redesign of the pool area together with Productora, transforming it into an urban and organic notion with varying moments of water.
