A collaboration with Rashid Johnson in the central courtyard of Museo Tamayo. We had the opportunity to work with the artist on a large format sculpture entitled The Crisis. A piece composed of a yellow metal structure containing pots made by the artist, and a selection of pots made by Mexican artisans and artists curated by PLANTA. We designed the plant palette together, and PLANTA was responsible for locating, curing and providing the vegetation; as well as its care and keeping the sculpture alive during the months of the exhibition. Thanks to the relationship we developed during this project, PLANTA once again collaborated with Johnson, interpreting several of his paintings to turn them into textile pieces. The textiles were produced in Oaxaca, and were eventually purchased by the Swedish gallery Hauser & Wirth.
